Tom Niehaus serves as Managing Director overseeing the company's Middle Market Group and brings more than 20 years of sales, management, venture leasing, and technology leasing experience.
Prior to TriplePoint, Mr. Niehaus was the Financial Area Manager with Hewlett Packard Financial Services (HP), where he managed strategic global accounts for Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Niehaus was also Regional Vice President of sales for ATEL Capital Corporation, a leasing company targeting Fortune 500 corporations.
Prior to ATEL, Mr. Niehaus served as the co-founder, President and Executive Vice President of global business development for ZoneTrader, Inc., a leading provider of equipment and asset disposition services. While at ZoneTrader, he successfully raised two rounds of venture financing totaling over $65 million and including strategic investments from The Ford Motor Company and The Dow Chemical Corporation. Mr. Niehaus grew alliances for ZoneTrader both domestically and internationally, building a global presence for Company’s Asset Disposition Services. In 2002, ZoneTrader was acquired by Dove Brothers, Inc.
Prior to ZoneTrader, Mr. Niehaus was Vice President of Leasing and Sales for Comdisco Inc. where he built a portfolio exceeding $600 million, consistently maintained a position in the top five percent of sales professionals, and was a member of President’s Club and Top Performers Club.
Mr. Niehaus holds a B.S. in Liberal Arts from the University of Iowa and attended the City University of London for advanced studies.
